Supply Chain Specialist (Freight Procurement/ Project Management)

Our client is one of the most reputable and awarded retailers in the international business market. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join the organisation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing ocean freight tenders, including negotiations, cost analysis, and service evaluation
  • Support the administration of carrier service agreements and file necessary documents.
  • Resolve escalated operational issues related to ocean freight
  • Monitor carrier performance and drive continuous improvement in service quality.
  • Maintain positive relationships with service providers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements for ocean freight and develop solutions and processes to meet those requirements
  • Participate in supply chain management projects and work with cross-functional teams to implement cohesive end-to-end solutions
  • Stay informed about updates in the ocean freight market and communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders
  • Process data and generate high-quality management reports

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Supply Chain, Logistics management or related fields
  • Have at least 2 years of full-time experience in a relevant field, preferably in the logistics department of a freight forwarder, buyer, or sourcing office
  • Familiarity with ocean freight commercials, including charges and rate trends
  • Experience in ocean freight tendering and contract management
  • Familiarity with ocean freight carriers, NVOCCs, and 3PLs (third-party logistics providers) for ocean freight services
  • Knowledge of carrier forecasting and capacity management
  • Understanding of reefer products and operations is advantageous
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
