Senior Supply Chain Specialist (Reefer - Global Freight Procurement)

 

Our client is one of the most reputable and awarded retailers in the international business market. They are currently looking for a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join the company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the team's primary expert on reefer supply chain solutions
  • Conduct thorough reviews of ocean freight tenders, negotiate effectively, and analyze costs and services to inform strategic decisions
  • Manage carrier service agreements and ensure contract obligations are met
  • Monitor and enhance carrier performance continuously
  • Forge robust business relationships with service providers
  • Address escalated operational issues related to ocean freight promptly and effectively
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to grasp ocean freight business needs, devise solutions, and establish operational processes to meet those needs
  • Monitor shipment-related risks and implement contingency plans to mitigate disruptions to operations
  • Participate in supply chain management (SCM) projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated end-to-end solutions
  • Analyze updates in the ocean freight market and communicate relevant information to internal stakeholders
  • Compile and process data to generate high-quality management reports

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years working experience in similar position
  • Must have expertise and familiarity with reefer ocean freight services and logistics
  • Proficiency in ocean freight commercial aspects, encompassing freight-related expenses and rate trends
  • History of involvement in ocean freight tender negotiations and overseeing contracts
  • Previous engagement with ocean freight carriers, NVOCC, and 3PLs for ocean freight services
  • Experience in carrier forecasting and managing capacity
  • Professional proficiency in English, Cantonese, Mandarin (speak, read and write)
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks proficiently and excel in a dynamic work environment
  • Effective team player with influential abilities to foster favorable outcomes within a diverse team
  • Solid analytical, communication, and interpersonal proficiencies
