Supply Chain Specialist (Global Freight Procurement)
Our client is one of the most reputable and awarded retailers in the international business market. They are currently looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join the company.
Job Responsibility:
- Assist in preparing ocean freight tenders, participating in negotiations, and analyzing costs and services.
- Support the administration of carrier service agreements filing.
- Address escalated operational issues related to ocean freight.
- Monitor carrier performance and actively pursue opportunities for improvement.
- Cultivate positive relationships with service providers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand ocean freight business needs, propose solutions, and establish efficient processes to meet those needs.
- Participate in supply chain management projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop integrated end-to-end solutions.
- Gather and review updates on the ocean freight market, ensuring internal stakeholders are kept informed.
- Process data and generate high-quality management reports.
Job Requirements:
- Tertiary education with minimum 2 years of working experience, preferably within the logistics department of a Freight Forwarder, Buyer, or Sourcing office.
- Proficiency in ocean freight commercial operations, encompassing freight charges and rate trends.
- Hands-on experience in managing ocean freight tenders and contracts.
- Familiarity with various ocean freight carriers, Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC), and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) offering ocean freight services.
- Experience in forecasting carrier capacities and managing capacity requirements.
- Knowledge of reefer products and operations would be beneficial.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
