Lab Manager – Hardlines – (Temp role) – Urgent Hire!

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Temporary Lab Manager to oversee daily operations of our Mechanical Testing Labs across Asia. This is a critical, urgent, short-term leadership role to ensure seamless lab operations, compliance, testing throughput, and cross-regional coordination during a transitional period. The ideal candidate has a background in furniture, toys, or hardline consumer products, with proven experience managing technical testing teams in a multi-site, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Maintain lab safety, calibration, equipment upkeep, and ISO/testing protocol compliance.
• Act as the main escalation point for technical issues, client queries, and reporting.
• Liaise with QA, R&D, and Product teams to align testing priorities and resolve bottlenecks.
• Prepare daily/weekly operational reports and flag risks to senior management.
• Support onboarding/training of new lab technicians as needed.
• Ensure smooth handover at end of contract.

Requirements:

• Immediate availability — must be able to start within 1–2 weeks.
• 15+ years’ experience in mechanical testing labs, preferably in furniture, toys, or hardline consumer goods.
• Proven track record managing multi-site or multi-country technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical testing standards (e.g., ASTM, EN, ISO, CPSIA, etc.).
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across cultures and time zones.
• Fluent in English, and Chinese.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous, or transitional environments.
• Working location: Kowloon, Hong Kong
