About the Role
The Category Manager is responsible for developing sourcing strategies and managing supplier relationships to support business needs. This role involves analyzing spend data, driving cost savings, and ensuring supplier compliance. The position requires collaboration with vendors across the APAC region and occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals
- Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost structures
- Conduct supplier financial reviews and manage contracts
- Lead negotiations and competitive bidding processes
- Monitor commodity pricing and prepare cost analysis reports
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards
- Support supplier diversity and sustainability initiatives
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members
- Travel within APAC region 6–8 times per year for supplier visits
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management (preferred)
- 3–5 years in supply chain, sourcing, or purchasing (preferred)
- Experience managing direct reports (preferred)
- Familiarity with SAP and Ariba systems (preferred)
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and financial acumen
- Effective negotiation and communication abilities
- Strategic thinking and project management
