Shipping Manager 

Our client is a privately owned trading company, recognised for their large volumes of trades with global US and EU Discount retailers. We are currently seeking a Shipping Manager to lead a small team to ensure all end 2 end shipping matters are handled coherently.

We are seeking candidates who are extremely resilient can handle process end to end, to work in fast paced environment with large volumes, practical thinker and systematic approach, and doesn’t mind hands on work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the shipping team across Hong Kong and China to optimize the entire shipping workflow, focusing on improving timeliness, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • Coordinate with vendors and shipping line representatives on shipment planning
  • Handle full set of Import/Export Shipping documents, L/C negotiation, forwarder /supplier’s management
  • Monitor daily import and export customs declarations
  • Maintain close communication with both internal and external parties for all shipping issues
  • Keep updated information on import and export regulations, policies and duties
  • Identify shipping shortfalls and provide solutions for long term improvement
  • Assist in ad-hoc duties as required


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or above in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years solid experience in shipping/logistics, background in consumer electronics industry is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge in import/export documentation, L/C negotiation, forward/supplier’s management and Tradelink declaration
  • Knowledge in SAP is an advantage
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin
  • Independent, self-motivated, a good problem solver with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Proactive working attitude, willing to face to problem and provide solutions
