About the Opportunity

We are hiring on behalf of a deep-tech AI company building intelligent, scalable platforms. They are seeking a Database Engineer (DBA) to manage and optimize database systems that power their AI applications—ranging from inference logs to agent-based data exchanges.

Ideal candidates come from AI labs, agentic AI systems, or commercial AI product teams with experience scaling and tuning databases in high-performance environments.

 

Role Summary

This is an on-site role focused on leading the technical direction of database infrastructure, ensuring data availability, consistency, and performance across all systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage production-level MySQL/PostgreSQL clusters.
• Support distributed databases and caching layers (e.g., Redis, TiDB, Cassandra).
• Develop automation scripts and monitoring tools for proactive issue detection.
• Perform SQL tuning, replication management, index optimization, and high-availability design.
• Provide data architecture guidance to development teams.
• Research and evaluate emerging database technologies for AI use cases.

 

Requirements

• 3+ years of enterprise-level DBA experience.
• Expert-level knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL; bonus for Redis, TiDB, or Cassandra.
• Experience supporting AI pipelines, agent memory stores, or high-frequency data logs is preferred.
• Skilled in automation scripting (Python, Shell).
• Strong documentation and collaboration ability.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese is mandatory.
• Must be able to work on-site in Singapore.
