Product Development Assistant Manager (Toys)
Our client is global leader in travel amenity industry partnering with major brands to create a diverse range of products tailored to their specific needs. They are currently looking for an outstanding Product Development Assistant Manager (Toys) to join the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of products, projects, and programs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.
- Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to create innovative, safe, and market-ready toy concepts.
- Maintain and update the toys catalogue database to ensure accurate product information.
- Define product specifications and establish testing requirements to meet industry standards.
- Source and evaluate new vendors to enhance the product development process.
- Manage supplier relationships, monitor project timelines, and perform cost analysis to ensure efficient delivery.
- Coordinate with factories and internal teams to track orders and ensure client requirements are met on schedule.
- Facilitate sample submissions to laboratories and follow up on testing per client specifications.
- Willingness to travel for business purposes as needed.
- Perform additional duties and ad-hoc assignments as required to support business needs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in OEM/ODM environments.
- A degree in Product Design, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of toy products, production processes, and cost structures.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements in the toy industry (ASTM & EN71).
- Proven experience in the development of gift and premium toys.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, responsible, and highly organized.
- Strong project management capabilities with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both China-based and international vendors.
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
