Workshop Engineering Supervisor (Workshop Management)
Our client is a prominent leader in the public transport sector, operates a fleet of over 1,700 buses and employs more than 5,000 staff members, serving over 1 million customers across the city. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Engineering Supervisor to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a skilled team responsible for overseeing regular inspections and repair activities across mechanical, electrical, and bodywork functions in the workshops.
- Strategically drive continuous improvements in efficiency, quality, and turnaround times to uphold the highest standards of workmanship.
- Monitor daily bus availability to meet operational requirements, ensuring consistent fleet readiness.
- Plan and oversee both preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of the company’s bus fleet.
- Supervise the annual regulatory inspection of the bus fleet, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and smooth execution.
- Collaborate with bus manufacturers and parts suppliers, adhering to recommended maintenance schedules and fostering strong, cooperative relationships.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to health and safety standards, engineering regulations, and company policies.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication within the team and across departments to ensure smooth and efficient collaboration.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, continuously improving engineering expertise and staying ahead of emerging trends.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of engineering documentation, maintaining high standards of record-keeping.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in fleet management, vehicle engineering, or maintenance workshop operations.
- Strong passion for fostering the development of others to improve overall team performance.
- Proven leadership and organizational abilities, with a track record of managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of local regulations, including Road Traffic Ordinance, type approval processes, and fleet modification programs.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government agencies, internal teams, and external partners.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
