Assistant Engineering Manager (Engineering Support & Technical Services)
Our client is a leading operator in the public transport sector, managing over 1,700 buses and employing more than 5,000 staff members to serve over 1 million customers in the city. They are currently searching for an exceptional Assistant Engineering Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to improve fleet efficiency, safety, and reliability through strategic partnerships and continuous communication with manufacturers.
- Act as the primary engineering liaison with the Transport Department’s Bus Safety Department, ensuring all projects and type approval applications comply with regulatory standards and exceed customer expectations.
- Oversee the complete process of new bus tenders, ensuring a seamless delivery of vehicles.
- Drive key fleet modification campaigns, ensuring all modifications adhere to industrial and legal standards while enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency.
- Establish and define technical standards and excellence within the fleet.
- Pioneer the implementation of innovations in new products, safety, and technology.
- Foster a culture of commitment to health and safety, engineering legislation, and company policies.
- Promote effective communication among colleagues to facilitate seamless collaboration.
- Stay updated on industry advancements to continually enhance engineering skills and maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of engineering documentation, upholding high standards of record-keeping.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Min 7 years of experience in fleet management, vehicle engineering, or maintenance workshop operations.
- A strong passion for developing team members to enhance overall efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently.
- Knowledge of local regulations regarding Road Traffic Ordinance, type approval processes, and fleet modification programs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with government agencies, internal teams, and external partners.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
