Logistics Assistant Manager

Our client is a market-leading luxury retail brand, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Assistant Manager to join their dynamic team in Japan. This sole-contributor role is essential for ensuring the smooth execution of logistics operations in alignment with our business objectives.

 

Work Location: Japan, Tokyo, Minato City

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the performance of Japan's logistics service providers, including freight forwarders, customs brokers, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and trucking companies, to ensure efficient import/export operations.
  • Monitor and manage warehouse processes in Japan, ensuring smooth operations and accurate inventory tracking. Collaborate with the Merchandising and Finance teams on stock assessments, destruction, recycling, and fast fulfilment solutions.
  • Provide logistics support across all business channels, ensuring compliance with local authority regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis and reporting of logistics KPIs to evaluate vendor performance, facilitating regular reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to proactively address and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Support local events, such as Trunk Shows, by managing ATA carnet applications and leading the organization of friends and family sales in Japan.
  • Oversee the application, control, and monitoring of TQ quantities, including rebalancing from Asia and the EU.
  • Address and resolve logistics-related issues within Y2/M3/Magento, encompassing inventory discrepancies, TRE invoicing, stock assessments, and destruction processes.
  • Lead logistics initiatives aimed at corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts in Japan to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Undertake additional ad hoc assignments and new logistics projects as directed by HQ and the APAC region.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Over 8 years of demonstrated experience in logistics, preferably within the luxury sector
  • Strong experience managing freight forwarders, customs broker, truck company and etc
  • Prefer candidates have hands on experience leading & organizing Family & Friend Sales.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
