Commercial Manager
Responsibilities:
- Oversee overall quantity surveying function for a project, providing strategic cost advice and recommendations to the project management team.
- Develop and implement effective cost control systems and procedures to monitor project expenditure.
- Lead a team of quantity surveyors and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure high performance.
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze and validate contract variations, claims, and final accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve cost-related issues and maintain transparency.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters and interpret contract documents.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a relevant discipline.
- Professional membership with HKIS and Registered NEC Professional
- 7 years of work experience, with 2 years of management experience on from contractor, consultancy, or client-side, preferably with exposure to civil projects.
- Excellent understanding of contract administration, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
