Legal Counsel - Property and Hospitality Industry
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice and support to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders on a wide range of legal matters including M&A, compliance, corporate governance, commercial transactions, employment, finance, and dispute resolution.
- Manage various M&A, corporate, and commercial transactions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Assist in enhancing legal department processes, internal policies, and procedures.
- Update and maintain contract templates and processes.
- Identify and mitigate risks to facilitate successful deal closures.
- Supervise and mentor junior legal team members.
- Conduct legal research to keep abreast of regulatory changes impacting the business.
- Ensure compliance with Hong Kong Listing Rules and corporate governance standards.
- Coordinate with external legal and company secretarial service providers.
Job Requirements:
- Law Degree from an accredited institution.
- Hong Kong qualified solicitor with a minimum of 8 years' PQE in property and/or hotel industry, ideally with 3 years in-house experience.
- Strong understanding of legal implications on business operations.
- Proficiency in M&A, regulatory compliance, and Hong Kong Listing Rules.
- Membership in professional legal bodies or institutes.
- Fluency in English, simplified and traditional Chinese.
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Demonstrated sound business judgment and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
