Procurement Director
Our client is a market leading IT infrastructure solutions provider / systems integrator specializing in data centre and server room infrastructure. They partner with leading US and European technology vendors to deliver cutting-edge equipment and solutions to our clients across global markets.
As they continue to scale our operations, we are seeking a seasoned Procurement Director to lead our sourcing strategy, deepen our vendor relationships, and build a world-class procurement function.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Company Owner
- Lead and manage a team of 4 procurement professionals, providing mentorship, performance management, and career development
- Develop and execute the procurement strategy for data centre and server room equipment, with a primary focus on US and European vendor relationships
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors across server hardware, storage, networking, cooling, power distribution, and rack infrastructure
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key OEMs, distributors, and channel partners in the US and European markets
- Design team structure, workflows, and KPIs to drive operational excellence
- Scale and grow the procurement team in line with business expansion plans over the coming years
- Oversee end-to-end procurement processes: requisition, sourcing, PO management, logistics coordination, and vendor performance tracking
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, risk management protocols, and international trade regulations
- Collaborate closely with Sales, and Operations teams to align procurement with project timelines and customer requirements
- Monitor global market trends, supply chain risks, and technology roadmaps in the data centre infrastructure space
- Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and reliability standards
- Manage inventory planning and forecasting in coordination with demand planning teams
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record sourcing data centre and server room equipment from US and European vendors (e.g., Dell EMC, HPE, Cisco, Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Rittal, Panduit, or equivalent)
- Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure categories: servers, storage, networking, UPS, cooling, racks, cabling, and associated components
- Strong network of contacts with US and European OEMs, distributors, and channel partners
- Expert negotiation skills with experience managing multi-million-dollar contracts
- Strong analytical and financial acumen; comfortable with total cost of ownership (TCO) modelling
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Fluent in English, Chinese
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams
- Vision and capability to scale a procurement function as the business grows
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
