Supply Chain Manager (APAC) – (MNC – Pharma)
Our client is a market-leading European pharmaceutical organization with strategic offices in globally. They are now looking to hire their first Supply Chain Manager - (APAC) to join their regional team based out of Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the Head of Supply Chain - (APAC) while being the first in the Hong Kong Supply Chain team.
- Oversee the strategic planning and execution of supply chain activities for Asia markets, focusing on Demand and Supply Planning, Logistics & 3PL Management, and Inventory Control to meet company objectives and drive profitable growth.
- Drive the long-term and short-term Demand and Supply Planning processes, providing analytical reports to identify potential risks and opportunities in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
- Establish and maintain long-term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including production facilities, distributors, vendors, and both global and regional teams.
- Facilitate the monthly consensus Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating inputs from senior management, finance, and Sales and Marketing teams to align on production goals.
- Monitor inventory levels and production schedules to ensure compliance with financial working capital targets, sales goals, and minimize write-offs.
- Evaluate third-party logistics (3PL) performance to ensure high service levels and customer satisfaction across different distribution channels.
- Responsible for negotiating contracts with distributors, 3PL service providers, and other external suppliers to optimize supply chain costs.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve supply chain processes to achieve higher efficiency and effectiveness, particularly in pharmaceutical distribution.
- Develop and regularly review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with global operations, regulatory standards, and healthcare requirements.
- Determine inventory strategies and relevant Supply Chain KPIs while monitoring warehouse and logistics costs to optimize overall performance.
Requirements:
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or Engineering; an MBA is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in various Supply Chain functions within a multinational corporate environment, ideally in the Pharmaceutical / Consumer Goods sector.
- Proven experience of working independently and within a regional team
- Strong commercial mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities tailored to the pharmaceutical / Consumer Goods industry.
- Willing to travel 10% within APAC, with annual trips to European headquarters.
- Fluent in English, and Chinese.
