Category Buying Manager (Knit/Denim)

Our client is a leading global fashion powerhouse responsible for shaping some of the most renowned and influential clothing brands in the industry. With a sharp focus on emerging trends and an unwavering commitment to quality, the company delivers stylish & accessible collections that appeal to diverse consumer preferences. They are now seeking an exceptional Category Buying Manager to join their dynamic team and contribute to their continued success.


Location: Based in China 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Develop and implement buying strategies for knits, sweats, and denim apparel to ensure the right product assortment.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure product quality and timely delivery.
  • Inventory Control: Work closely with planning teams to maintain appropriate stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and optimize sales.
  • Sales Optimization: Track sales performance, identify opportunities for growth, and adjust strategies to meet targets and margins.
  • Trend & Market Analysis: Stay current on fashion trends, competitor offerings, and consumer behavior to inform buying decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with design, merchandising, and marketing teams to align on product strategies and promotional activities.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a buying role with focus on knits/sweats/denim/jersey category.
  • Strong understanding of product development, fashion trends, and garment construction.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in English, and Mandarin
