Job Description

Our client is a Hong Kong mainboard-listed conglomerate with a presence in over 30 countries across Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Australasia. As part of their growth strategy, they are expanding their operations in Australia and are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead their two offices in the country. This role should be managing both teams in the Australian office of approximately 20 professionals in total, overseeing Finance, IT, and Procurement functions. The ideal candidate for this role should be an Australian permanent resident and possess fluency in Cantonese, as they will directly report to board members based in Hong Kong.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the Finance function, which includes billing, procurement, payment, treasury, compliance, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Assess and strategize investment opportunities, considering financial risks in relation to the company's business development, expansion, and financing projects.
  • Conduct research on revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Manage financial forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring full compliance with policies and standards set by the headquarters.
  • Act as a business partner to the CEO, focusing on finance-related matters.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with the senior management team, external partners, and headquarters.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s holder in Finance and Accounting or related disciplines
  • CPA qualification from recognized accounting professional bodies
  • Over 15 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably with a proven track record in international financial control
  • Independent, reliable, and able to demonstrate leadership in multicultural environments
  • Analytic mindset, problem solver, and strong in time management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in senior stakeholders’ management
