About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to grow its large corporate and enterprise customer portfolio in Japan. They are in the global corporate travel management industry (TMC). Office is based in Tokyo. 

The role will focus on acquiring Japan-based organisations with significant domestic and international business-travel requirements. The successful candidate will manage complex sales cycles, position tailored travel-management solutions, and build relationships with senior decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and acquire large corporate and enterprise customers in Japan.
• Target and build relationships with C-level executives, Executive Assistants, HR, Administration, Procurement, and Travel Managers.
• Understand customers’ domestic and international travel requirements, policies, technology, and reporting needs.
• Lead presentations, solution discussions, RFPs, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate with regional and global teams to develop suitable travel solutions.
• Maintain accurate sales activity, pipelines, and forecasts in the CRM.
• Support a smooth handover to implementation and account-management teams.

Requirements

• Strong experience in enterprise B2B sales, business development, or corporate solution sales. 5-8 years’ experience is preferred.
• Proven track record of winning large or complex corporate accounts in Japan.
• Strong understanding of Japanese business culture and corporate decision-making.
• Experience engaging C-level executives and senior corporate stakeholders.
• Experience managing RFPs, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Native or highly fluent Japanese with strong professional English.
