Dyeing and Finishing Technical Director – (Based Jiangmen, China)

Working location, Jiangmen, China

Our client is a market leading home textiles production organisation, due to extensive mass retail market growth, they are now looking to hire a Dyeing and Finishing Technical Director to further enhance the products of the business.

This role will be responsible for managing the company’s dyeing and finishing processes and technical operations, ensuring products meet customer requirements and company standards in terms of quality, cost, and delivery timelines. You will lead the technical team and work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement departments to continuously improve process efficiency and enhance productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize dyeing and finishing processes to ensure product quality meets standards and to improve production efficiency.
  • Establish dyeing and finishing process parameters, optimize dye formulations and colour matching to guarantee colour stability and consistency.
  • Guide and train the technical team to enhance team members’ professional skills and work efficiency.
  • Monitor industry technology trends, introduce and implement new technologies and processes to continuously strengthen the company’s competitiveness.
  • Coordinate collaboration with suppliers and external partners to ensure consistent quality and stable supply of raw materials.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree or higher in Dyeing and Finishing Engineering, Textile Engineering with a focus on Dyeing and Finishing, Light Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical management experience in dyeing and finishing; candidates with experience in home textiles, apparel, or high-end fabric sectors are preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of dyeing and finishing processes and technical requirements for home textile products, with extensive practical knowledge and hands-on experience in dyeing and finishing technologies.
  • Expertise in fabric science, with systematic knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of various fibres (natural and synthetic), and deep understanding of how different fibres critically influence dyeing and finishing processes (e.g., dye uptake, temperature tolerance, tension sensitivity).
  • Proficient in the performance characteristics and application scenarios of dyes (reactive, disperse, acid, direct, etc.) and auxiliaries, capable of scientifically designing formulations based on fabric composition and product requirements.
  • Skilled in selecting dyes and auxiliaries and formulating recipes to ensure colour stability and consistency of final products.
  • Mastery of the full range of dyeing and finishing processes from desiring, scouring, and bleaching to dyeing, printing, and various functional finishing treatments including key technical considerations for each step.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, able to collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Procurement, and other departments to resolve process-related issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills, capable of promptly addressing technical challenges and unexpected issues during production to ensure smooth operations.
